Yahoo! to Ning
Hmm I have a few min while riding on the train, so time for another update on my life.
Many things have changed. I've left Yahoo! after 20 months of employment for Ning.com. I've left behind 30 hours per week of meetings, an inability to execute, and a political assassination of my project by an incompetent guy who only had power because he was sleeping with a VP. I now have to deal with working 7 days a week and lots of chaos. I'm really glad I made the trade off.
If you haven't heard of Ning, here's the story in a nutshell. It's a site that not only allows you to build something faster than rails if you so desire, but you can also create your own niche or private social network without any technical skills at all. You can even request access to the source code and add or change features to your desire. It's kind of like Yahoo! groups, but uses modern technology, works well, and kicks ass.
I have a life outside of work too, although most of it is a meer shadow of my work life... For instance, I'm now a Macintosh convert after forcing it upon myself for a few weeks. I'm moving to Palo Alto to be walking distance from work (my first free standing house!) and umm I'm doing my part for the environment by being a mass transit commuter!
Anyway, it's been an exciting few weeks. I'm almost at my station so see ya...

So glad you joing ning. I have like 10 social sites on ning, and they are great. That business model will surely kick and become huge in a couple of years.
I have a couple of big communities one is portado.com and portado4.ning.com wich is the same but in english.
I congratulate you on your choice, ning is a great place to work, and youll be very happy.
